Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Stradishall at 2300LT on May 30 on an operation to Cologne. Approaching the target area from the northwest, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed in Jackerath, 37 km northwest of Cologne. Three crew members were killed and three others became PoW.
