Circumstances:
The aircraft was performing a special flight on behalf of the Swedish Navy, carrying one pilot and three Swedish Officers. While flying along the east coast of Sweden, the aircraft was mistakenly shot down by a Swedish anti-aircraft battery and crashed on the Häradskär Island, about 23 km southeast of Valdemarsvik. All four occupants were killed.
Probable cause:
Mistakenly shot down by the Swedish Flak.

The three engine aircraft was completing a flight from Trondheim to Sweden (undetermined airport). Just after crossing the border between Norway and Sweden, the aircraft was shot down by the Swedish Flak and crashed on a mountain slope above Riksgränsen. Eight occupants were killed while seven others were injured.

The crew departed Trondheim-Værnes Airport on a bombing mission of the Narvik harbor. En route, the twin engine aircraft was shot down by the pilot of an RAF fighter and the crew ditched the aircraft into the Sitasjaure Lake, Sweden. All three occupants were rescued and became PoW.
