Two Junkers JU.52 of the German Air Force (registered KD+II and D-AKYV) were engaged in a combined training exercise at Klützow AFB (now Kluczewo AFB) in Poland, carrying each other seven crew members. In unclear circumstances, both airplanes collided upon landing. Both airplanes were destroyed and all 14 occupants were killed.

The airplane departed Tanagra AFB on a paratroopers mission. While in initial climb, the engines failed. All paratroopers bailed out and the crew attempted an emergency landing when the airplane crashed in a field near Kalamos, some 25 km east of Tanagra Airfield. Two crew members were killed and two others were injured.

Circumstances:
The airplane departed Bucharest-Otopeni Airport on a transfer flight, carrying 14 paratroopers and four crew members. In unclear circumstances, it crashed in the Apuseni Mountain Range, southwest of Cluj Napoca. Sixteen occupants were killed and two passengers were apparently able to bail out from an altitude of 2,000 metres and were found alive.
