Circumstances:
On a crop-spraying flight from Prototskiye (Krasnoarmeisk district of the Krasnodar region), the engine lost power while the aircraft was flying at a height of some 45 metres. The crew attempted to make an forced landing in a rice paddy field located some 2 km east of Prototskiye, but the aircraft nosed over during the landing run and came to rest upside down in shallow water. Those parts of the fuselage which were above the water were consumed by the erupting fire and both pilots escaped unhurt.
Probable cause:
Engine failure caused by the fatigue of the exhaust collector.
