Circumstances:

Crew and passengers were performing a weather scientific flight on specific icing conditions. During flight, the aircraft accumulated 7 to 8 inches of ice on the leading edge and the crew turned on the deice boot system. A loud bang occurred on the rear of the aircraft and both engines lost power immediately. Pilots elected to make an emergency landing in the tundra with the landing gear retracted. On touch down, the aircraft skidded few dozen metres and came to rest with severe damage on both wings, fuselage and empennage. All occupants escaped without any injury but the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
