Circumstances:
Crew was performing a search flight after both 'Miss Doran' and 'Golden Eagle' aircraft taking part to the 'Dole Race' disappeared in the Pacific Ocean between Oakland and Honolulu. While flying at night 1,000 km west of California, navigator sent a brief mayday message in Morse specifying that all lights on board stopped, that pilot lost control of the aircraft which spun. Aircraft christened 'Dallas Spirit' crashed into the sea and was never found. Crew:
