Circumstances:
Aircraft was engaged in a training exercise with 14 Russian soldiers and 9 Czech soldiers on board. On landing, nose gear collapsed and aircraft skidded on runway, overrun, broke in two and came to rest in flames in a field. Seven occupants were injured, among them two seriously. The aircraft was partially destroyed by fire.
Causes:
Wrong approach configuration. Crew came in too fast, touched down hard on the nose gear at a speed of 260 km/h and bounced twice, touching down with 1.6 to 3.3 g. The nose gear collapsed and the aircraft overran the runway.
