Circumstances:
On the leg to the disused airstrip at Omega AFB (Zambezi Region) of a flight to Bagani in order to collect the bodies of all 33 people who had been killed in the crash of ERJ-190AR C9-EMC of Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique in the Bwabwata National Park the previous day, when landed long on an airstrip that was overgrown by grass and bushes. Aircraft overrun and came to rest into trees at the end of the runway, causing damage to the wings (the outer right wing was partially sheared off. All six occupants escaped unhurt while the aircraft was considered as damaged beyond repair. Hulk still in situ in FEB2014 and may be disassembled and trucked back to Windhoek.
Causes:
Wrong landing configuration. Disused airport and runway in poor condition.
