Circumstances:
The aircraft was performing a charter flight from Adana, Turkey, to Balad al-Mala, Irak, with 30 workers on board coming from Moldova, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. The aircraft left Adana at 0600LT for a 90 minutes flight. On descent, pilots missed the approach due to fog and decided to perform a go around. On the second attempt, the aircraft hit the ground 2,5 km short of runway and was destroyed. One passenger was seriously injured while 34 other occupants were killed. Balad al-Mala is a US military airbase located 80 km north of Baghdad.
