Circumstances:
The aircraft was performing a special flight from Ufa to Naryan Mar with intermediate stop at Perm, Usinsk and Varandej under contract of the Russian firm Naryanmarneftyegaz, a sister company of Lukoil Group. On final approach, the aircraft struck the ground 5 km from airport and burned. 28 people were killed, among them the Captain Viktor Popov and the navigator. All other occupants were seriously injured. Outside temperature was -24° C. at the time of the accident. The aircraft was leased to Kuzbassaviafrakht. Copilot was performing the approach when the accident occurred. This is not authorised by procedures. It seems that he has an optical illusion on final descent and landed on a road.
