The aircraft, owned by Slovak Air Force (Letectva a Protivzdu Obrany-snej Slovenskej), crashed in a wooded area located 20 km from Kosice Airport. On approach by night, the aircraft hit trees and crashed in a forest at an altitude of 700 metres near the village of Telkibanya, Hungary. Among the 43 occupants, only one passenger survived but was seriously injured. It is the worse accident, to date, in Hungary. All occupants were young Slovak soldiers coming back to Kosice after a peace mission for KAFOR (UNO) in Kosovo.
