On final approach, the four engine aircraft hit a hill (140 meters high) located 5,200 meters short of runway and 430 meters to the right of the extended centerline. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and post crash fire and all 47 occupants were killed.
Causes:
The crew decided to continue the approach in low visibility and did not perform a go around despite the fact that no visual contact with the runway was established. The aircraft was not properly aligned with the runway centerline and hit a hill and exploded.
